From 13 to 29 May 2020, The Centre for International Cooperation in Education of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic organized short "Live Sessions" to support studies in our country as a part of the "Study in the Czech Republic" initiative. The Centre continues to develop activities with aim to internationalize Czech universities and to enhance cooperation with foreign students, both currently studying in the Czech Republic and graduates from the Czech schools.
Our main current goal is to support the promotional activities of universities towards foreign applicants especially at a time when it is not possible to participate in physical foreign study fairs and to assure foreign applicants that Czech universities continue to accept foreign students despite the current situation and online teaching is possible. It is also important to note that the Czech Republic is coping with the coronavirus situation quite well and is a safe country to study.
With regard to the mentioned live sessions, the fans of the Study in the Czech Republic Facebook page were able to watch short live entries by representatives of Czech universities, which took various forms, such as interviews with foreign students, speeches by representatives of the universities' foreign departments on the above topics and presentations of existing study programs. The presentations of "media ambassadors" from the ranks of international students brought examples of their experience with studying in the Czech Republic.
As a long-term form of assistance there are also other sources of information for the prospective students, e.g. interactive portal that enables everyone interested in studying in the Czech Republic to select the desired type of education and search from a wide range of study programmes, study fields and courses of Czech higher education institutions.
