The ceremonial opening, which took place in front of the building, which will host the office of Honorary Consul Daw Hla Hla Wei, was attended by Ambassador of the Czech Republic Mr. Jaroslav Doleček, together with about another 100 invited guests.

The Czech Republic thus became the very first country to have a resident honorary consul in Mandalay and a regular Honorary Consulate there.

The opening of our Honorary Consulate has received a well-deserved response from the public and the media. We firmly believe that the decision to open our Honorary Consulate in Mandalay and the selection of the Honorary Consul herself will assist to further expanding of the Czech-Myanmar mutual relations, especially in the fields of economic and business cooperation and tourism.
