Minister Jan Mládek on Official Visit to Myanmar/Burma

H. E. Mr. Jan Mládek, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, conducted an official visit to Myanmar/Burma from October 30th to November 1st, 2016.
 

The Minister’s visit took place at the invitation of the Ministry of Planning and Finance of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. His delegation was composed of representatives of the Ministry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Vice President of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic Mr. František Chaloupecký and Minister was also accompanied by a group of  Czech businessmen. Minister Mládek paid a courtesy call on State Counsellor and Foreign Minister of the Union of Myanmar Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, on the First Vice President U Myint Swe and held talks with Minister for Planning and Finance, Minister for Industry, Minister for Trade and Minister for Electricity and Energy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.


Another important part of the visit was the first meeting of the Czech-Myanmar Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation and signing of the final minutes of the meeting by Minister Mládek on the Czech side and Minister of Planning and Finance U Kyaw Win on the side of the host country. During his stay in Yangon, the Embassy arranged for him a working lunch with Chief Minister for Yangon Region Phyio U Min Thein and  a meeting with the new president of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (UMFCCI) U Zaw Min Win.
