The new Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the United States of America presented his Letters of Credence in the Oval Office on September 15, 2026.
Ambassador Jakub Kulhánek presented his credentials to US President Donald J. Trump during an official ceremony at the White House on September 15, 2026. Upon presenting his credentials, Jakub Kulhánek formally assumed his role as the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the United States of America.
His Excellency was profoundly honored to have the extraordinary privilege of meeting with President Trump and looks forward to deepening the friendship between the Czech Republic and the United States.
In announcing his new role following the prestigious ceremony, Ambassador Kulhánek stated, “America holds a special place in Czech hearts. Americans stood with us in 1918, at the birth of our modern independence. Our declaration was issued here, in Washington, DC. Our relationship today is excellent, and I'm determined to strengthen it further. I'll seize every opportunity to do so.”
The Ambassador further emphasized, “For decades, American companies invested in the Czech Republic, bringing capital, technology and jobs. Today, Czech firms are doing the same here, building plants and creating skilled jobs from Georgia to Texas.” He stressed, "We are ready to go further in defense, energy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence."
Last but not least, Ambassador Kulhánek underscored the importance he places on engaging with the Czech community throughout the United States, noting that some 1.3 million Americans have Czech roots, making it “the largest Czech community anywhere outside our own borders.”
