The Prague Office of the Democratic Forces of Belarus organized the 3rd Congress on Belarusian Political Prisoners, #WithoutJustCause. The opening featured speeches by Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, Vice Speaker of the Lithuanian Parliament Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, and Ambassador Aleš Opata. This year, the congress placed a strong emphasis on the personal stories and experiences of Belarusian political prisoners and their families.

The Andrei Sakharov Research Center for Democratic Development organized the 16th annual International Sakharov Conference titled “The Rise of Authoritarianism – 50 Years Since the Establishment of the Helsinki Movement” focusing primarily on current political topics and reflections on the Helsinki groups that emerged in the 1970s in the former USSR. As part of the conference, a screening of Nicolas Miletitch’s film “For Our Hopeless Cause” was held at the Czech Embassy.
