The new satellite toll system (which will replace Kapsch's current microwave technology) will be launched as of 1 December 2019. 16,000 lorries from Lithuania need to be registered in new Czech Republic toll system.
Hauliers are obliged to register in the new system and equip vehicles with on-board units no later than by the date of the new toll system’s launch, i.e. 1 December 2019. In addition to this registration, the condition for receiving or sending a new on-board unit is also payment of a refundable deposit of CZK 2,468 for the on-board unit.
Hauliers can register for the Czech Republic’s new toll system through fuel card issuers or online at www.mytocz.eu. In the case of online registration, a haulier will receive a new on-board unit by post. A haulier always has to pay a refundable CZK 2,468 deposit in advance before the unit is sent. Hauliers can also register in person at more than 200 Points of Sale in the Czech Republic.
The fundamental principles of toll system operation in the Czech Republic remain unchanged, even after transition to the new toll system. The charge volume depends on vehicle type and distance travelled on toll roads. The toll payment obligation shall apply to at least four-wheel motor vehicles with maximum permissible weight over 3.5 tons. As of 1 December 2019, there are no adjustments to the toll road network.
