The Czech/NATO Contact Point Embassy is reaching audiences beyond the Austrian capital city

Officers from Land Force Command in Graz learned about NATO´s Enhanced Deterrence and Defence (D&D) Posture.

In the new political and social climate after the Cold War, NATO´s focus on the capabilities to deter and defend the territory of its Members against possible enemy moved into the background. It is only after the annexation of Crimea that NATO starts reviewing its priorities and decides to adapt the Alliance to acquire necessary military and other capabilities to strengthen its D&D Posture.

On May 23, the Czech/NATO Contact Point Embassy to Austria organized an expert meeting at the Land Force Command in Graz to present selected aspect of NATO adaptation; including the Czech contribution to the NATO´s enhanced D&D. The audience also listened to a presentation on the Enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) by the NATO Director for Defence Policy and Capabilities. Furthermore, the Canadian Commander shared his experience from the multinational eFP Battlegroup in Latvia to which a Czech contingent is foreseen to integrate in the near future.

The event was well attended by the Land Force Command officers. We are happy that the NATO Contact Point Embassy is reaching audiences beyond the Austrian capital city.
