NATO Contact Point Embassy: Expert Meeting on Air Policing, Salzburg 9. 10. 2018

Once again, the Czech run NATO Contact Point Embassy addressed audiences outside Vienna, this time at the Air Surveillance Command in Salzburg.

About 30 Austrian officers, including Deputy Commander of Austrian Air Force Brigadier-General Staudacher and Commander of Air Surveillance Brigadier-General Stadlhofer, listened with great interest to excellent presentations of NATO and SHAPE speakers on NATO Integrated Air and Missile Defence System (NATINAMDS) from political and practical perspective. Furthermore, Deputy Chief of General Staff, Director of Czech MoD Joint Operations Centre and former commander of the Czech Air Force Major-General Verner and his colleague presented their experiences from protecting national airspace and Air Policing over allied territories. From Lithuanian perspective, participants had the opportunity to learn about hosting an Air Policing mission.

We are proud that the Czech NATO Contact Point Embassy was able to set up great expert event directly at the relevant headquarter. By coincidence, we had also the opportunity to point out to our excellent experience with using Czech made Air Policing equipment at the moment when Austria decides how to protect its own airspace and when Aero Vodochody Aerospace Company rolls out its brand new L-39NG aircraft.
