Working breakfast of the ECOSOC President on participation of all, dedicated to local government

ECOSOC President, H.E. Marie Chatardová, in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of Colombia to the UN, hosted a working breakfast of Member States, local government representatives and experts from academia and the UN system on January 11, 2018. The topic of the discussion at the Bohemian National Hall was the Czech ECOSOC presidency’s special initiative: “Towards sustainable, resilient and inclusive societies through participation of all,” this time viewed from the perspective of local governments and cities.

The discussion, moderated by Ms. Marion Barthelemy of UN DESA, benefitted from opening interventions by Ms. Adriana Krnáčová, Mayor of Prague; Ambassador Carlos Morales of the Permanent Mission of Colombia to the UN; as well as Stefano Marta of the OECD. This breakfast meeting represented the second in a series of four discussions in preparation for the ECOSOC Special Meeting in May 2018.
