Third UN Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development - Habitat III

Quito, Ecuador, hosted on 17-20 October 2016 the Third UN Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development - Habitat III. The Czech delegation to Habitat III was led by Minister of regional development, H.E. Ms. Karla Šlechtová.
Minister Šlechtová, elected one of the vice-presidents of the conference, chaired parts of its plenary proceedings, where she also presented a national statement of the Czech Republic. She also took part as a panelist in a high-level round table on housing.
Bilaterally, Minister Šlechtová met with her colleagues from Ecuador, USA, France, Germany, Albania, Estonia, Indonesia and other countries.
The conference was concluded on Thursday 20 October with the ceremonial adoption of its outcome document „New Urban Agenda“.
