The President delivered the National Address at the UNGA on Wednesday, 25th September. On the same day, he also attended the UN Security Council meeting on Leadership for Peace. On the sidelines President Pavel also addressed a panel on "Securing the Digital Future". He also spoke at a meeting of the World Jewish Congress. In New York, the President met with top UN officials and heads of state. In his remarks, he called for the need to reform the UN Security Council.

"A comprehensive reform of the UN Security Council is long overdue. Making the Council more effective, inclusive, accountable, and better reflecting today’s realities by strengthening the voice of underrepresented regions is crucially needed. In the face of the unjust and unprovoked Russian war against Ukraine, we must realise that Security Council membership is not a carte blanche. No one has the right to abuse power and bully other members of the international community without sanctions. Together, we must exercise more pressure on Russia to end its unjust and brutal war," said Pavel.
