On November 15th at the occasion of the Czech presidency of the Economic and Social Council of the UN (ECOSOC), the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the UN hosted a screening of a Czech documentary movie titled “Katřina Šedá: How to make a holiday”. This film illustrated the priority of Czech presidency of ECOSOC, which is “towards sustainable, resilient and inclusive societies through participation of all”. The document is about a project of the artist Kateřina Šedá, who moved a small Czech village called Bedřichovice to the city center of London. The project was sponsored by the Tate Modern Gallery.
The movie was introduced by the Czech Permanent Representative to the UN, H.E. Marie Chatardová, and the author of the project, Kateřina Šedá. During the reception afterwards, the guests could taste traditional Czech food and discuss the film with the artist.
Thanks to the intensive campaign on several social media accounts and due to the extensive communication with all invited, the Czech priority of the ECOSOC presidency has become a common knowledge both in and out of the United Nations.
