Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the UN and the president of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Marie Chatardova presided over the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2018

The annual ECOSOC Youth Forum took place on January 30 and January 31, 2018 in the UN Headquarters in New York. This session is a platform for discussions of youth delegates from around the globe, ministers, representatives of governments and parliaments and non-profit organizations. Young people have the opportunity to interact with ministers and they can contribute to the process of creation of national and international policies. The Forum attracted over 1000 participants.
During her opening speech and her commentary, Ambassador Chatardova stressed the important role of young people, whose population reaches 1.8 billion people and they constitute an absolutely crucial part of solution of all global problems.
The Czech Republic, through its presidency of ECOSOC, plays an important role in the discussion between the young generation and global statesmen.
