New World Concert

The Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the United Nations, the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York, and the Czech Center New York presented the New World Concert on May 4, 2017. Under the High Patronage of the Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the United Nations, H.E. Mrs. Marie Chatardová, the attendees heard Antonin Dvorak’s masterpieces performed by the UN Chamber Music Society – dedicated to the Czech Republic, as part of the New York Philharmonic’s “New World Initiative".
The evening at the Bohemian National Hall of May 4, 2017 was filled with uplifting music of Antonin Dvorak and was a timely reminder of the ideals for better future that all of the attendees strive hard to achieve as part of the diplomatic community here in New York. It was also a great reminder of significance of the Czech Republic as part of the international community. Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the United Nations, Ambassador M. Chatardová, delivered remarks aimed at strengthening the role of Czech diplomacy within the United Nations and emphasized the current Czech vice-presidency of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and its upcoming presidency of this esteemed body.
The attendees comprised of a significant number of Permanent Representatives of UN member states, other important figures of the local diplomatic community and large number of people from general public.
