Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic hosted the 25th Economic and Environmental Forum of OSCE

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Mr. Martin Tlapa, and Minister of Finance of the Republic of Austria, Mr. Hans Jörg, initiated the 25th Economic and Environmental Forum of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in the Czernin Palace, which took place in Prague between September 6 and September 8, 2017.

The Forum was kicked off by Mr. Vuk Žugić, coordinator of economic and environmental activities of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.

The main speeches of the Forum were delivered by Ms. Olga Algayerová, Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (OSCE), Mrs. Marie Chatardová, President of the Economic and Social Council of the UN (ECOSOC) and Jeffrey Sachs, Special Advisor of the UN Secretary General on Sustainable Development Goals.

The 25th meeting of the Economic and Environmental Forum of OSCE was focused on ecologization of economies and establishing a partnership for security in the OSCE region. During the three-day event, representatives of governmental institutions, experts from academia, nongovernmental and international organization were discussing cooperation in the areas of environment, economic cooperation and participation.

This session is not only a culmination of this year’s work of the OSCE regarding to environmental, economic and security challenges but also provides an opportunity to reflect on existing cooperation between the OSCE’s 57 member states on the occasion of its twenty-fifth anniversary.
