
Minister of Regional Development of the Czech Republic, Mrs. K. Dostálová, on national efforts to achieve SDGs

Mrs. K. Dostálová, Minister of Regional Development of the Czech Republic, spoke during the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on national efforts concerning drinking water, modern energy services and making cities sustainable as part of the national review debate on the progress in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Speaking during the second-day of the HLPF ministerial segment on July 17, 2018, Minister K. Dostálová reaffirmed the center role of the UN in achieving the SDGs and proposed further enhancements of accountability through initiatives like “New Urban Agenda”. She went on saying that the Czech Republic is doing very well, especially in regards to SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation), SDG 11 (sustainable cities) and SDG 15 (land ecosystems). In the end she stressed the importance of sound governance and participation of all in achieving sustainable and resilient societies.
