Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, J. Maláčová, spoke during the 63rd session of the CSW

Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic, Jana Maláčová, spoke in the General Assembly hall of the UN in New York during the 63rd plenary session of the Commission on the Status of Women on March 12, 2019.

Minister Maláčová highlighted the progress made in the Czech Republic during her speech, however she remarked that the battle for gender equality is far from over. In this regard, she praised the new governmental programs for women getting into STEM fields, newly adopted Family Policy, extended parental leave and she also noted the pressing need for pension reforms. At the end of her speech, she invited all present dignitaries to two side events organized by the Czech Republic during the Commission on the Status of Women session – Tuesday event on gender-based violence and Wednesday meeting on family care.
