Czech Republic addressed the UN Security Council on working methods

On 20 October 2015 the Czech Republic participated in the open debate of the Security Council. The Czech Republic stressed its long-term support for the Security Council reform and the need for open and inclusive proces of selecting and appointing the new Secretary General of the UN in 2016.

In view of the relationship between the Security Council and the Economic and Social Council of the UN (ECOSOC), the Czech Republic also reminded delegations of its candidature to the ECOSOC for years 2016-2018 in the upcoming elections on October 21.
