Consultations between the ECOSOC Bureau and the Executive Directors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund

On 17 January 2018, the ECOSOC Bureau visited the Headquarters of the World Bank Group and the IMF in Washington D.C. as part of the preparatory process for the 2018 ECOSOC Forum on Financing for Development follow-up (New York, 23-26 April 2018), in particular the special high-level meeting of the Council with the BWIs, WTO and UNCTAD.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss and decide on the topics of the interactive dialogue between the UN Ambassadors and Executive Directors of the World Bank and IMF, which will be held on 24 April 2018. The UN delegation, led by the President of ECOSOC, included 13 participants representing the Bureau of ECOSOC (Belgium, the Czech Republic, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, South Africa and Tajikistan) and the UN Secretariat.
