Ambassador M. Chatardová spoke during a high-level conference on investments and partnerships

High-level conference on investments and partnerships for global goals organized by Impact Leadership 21, Foundation for the Support of the United Nations, Blue Ocean Capital Group and IBM took place on September 19, 2018 in the ECOSOC Chamber of the UN Headquarters in New York. Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the UN welcomed the participants in her capacity as the former President of the Economic and Social Council of the UN. Steve Forbes, chairman of Forbes Media, also spoke during the event.
In her opening speech Ambassador M. Chatardová spoke about the importance of partnerships in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially the need to build trust between all the actors. She also spoke about the priority of the Czech presidency of ECOSOC and the lessons learned. Steve Forbes emphasized continuous need for socially beneficial investments, for example developing new technologies, which help to bring about the sustainable development. The conference consisted of two panel discussions focused on impacts of investment decisions and the impact of new financial technologies on achieving the SDGs. At the end of the conference, Steve Forbes, Joseph Cinques, Felipe Calderón, Francisco Lozano and Nicholas Perricone were awarded the “SDG Global Leadership Awards”.
During the subsequent dinner gala, Ambassador Chatardová lead an interactive dialogue with the event organizer Janet Salazar on the commitment to strengthen inclusive, resilient and sustainable society through participation of all.
