Ambassador Marie Chatardová addressed the opening session of the UN Forum on Forests

Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the UN Marie Chatardová, in her capacity as ECOSOC Vice-President, addressed the 12th session of the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF 12) in the opening session of the forum on 1 May.

Speaking after President of the General Assembly Thomson, Ambassador Chatardová assured delegates that UNFF has been an indispensable part of the ECOSOC system, as the only truly global intergovernmental policy body holding regular debate on all aspects of issues related to forests.

UNFF had produced a ground-breaking UN Strategic Plan on Forests for the 2017-2030 period, which has been adopted by both ECOSOC and the General Assembly in the recent weeks.

The Czech Republic is represented in UNFF 12 bureau by Mr. Tomáš Krejzar of the Ministry of Agriculture, Prague.
