
Ambassador M. Chatardová, President of ECOSOC, addressed the blockchain technology

Ambassador M. Chatardová, President of the Economic and Social Council of the UN (ECOSOC), addressed the inaugural Blockchain for Impact Summit organized by the Blockchain Commission for Sustainable Development on June 4, 2018 at the United Nations Headquarters.
Blockchain Commission for Sustainable Development was established in 2017 to help develop local, national and global solutions for the most pressing issues of our day. Ambassador Chatardová emphasized the potential of new technologies to bring increased collaboration in order to implement the 2030 Agenda and mentioned many different uses for blockchain technology. This technology is not only useful in the space of digital currencies but has a potential to help with property registrations, personal identification, voting, taxes, delivering humanitarian aid and identifying victims of human trafficking.
