Ambassador Chatardová has been appointed as co-facilitator of this year’s alignment process

President of the seventy-third session of the UN General Assembly, María Fernanda Espinosa Garcés, has appointed the Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the UN, ambassador Marie Chatardová, together with the Permanent Representative of Timor-Leste, ambassador Maria Helena Lopes de Jesus Pires as co-facilitators for this year’s process of alignment of the agendas of the intergovernmental UN agencies with the goals of Agenda 2030. This alignment process is a part of the revitalization process of the UN General Assembly.

The alignment process is aimed at harmonization of the agendas of the Committees of the UN General Assembly, Economic and Social Council of the UN (ECOSOC) and its subsidiaries and the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development. This process should focus on the deficiencies in covering the different sustainable development goals and duplication of efforts in the agendas of these agencies.
