Ambassador Chatardová delivered a speech at the second regular session of the UNICEF Executive Board

This year's second regular session of the UNICEF Executive Board was held in New York from 12-14 September 2018. Based on being elected to the Executive Board in 2017, the Czech Republic attended all meetings during this session. The main focus of the session was especially on innovations in technology and education for children.
At the opening meeting, the member states presented their general statements referring to the UNICEF's agenda and work., the Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic at the United Nations Marie Chatardová, stated that UNICEF continues to be one of the most important multilateral partners for the Czech Republic and also highlighted two important priorities: youth and science. The Czech Republic thus expressed its support for the focus on innovation in the UNICEF Strategic Plan and called for greater involvement of the youth in the planning and decision-making process.
In the following meetings, the Executive Board focused primarily on education, country programs, budgetary matters or evaluation of the response to the cholera epidemic in Yemen.
