Ambassador Chatardová chaired the Economic and Social Council Partnership Forum

President of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC), Ambassador M. Chatardová, chaired a day-long Partnership Forum on the role of private sector in achieving 2030 Agenda. The event held under the theme of “Partnering for resilient and inclusive societies: contributions of the private sector” was held on April 4, 2018 and explored the need for private sector investment in the sustainable development agenda.

The ECOSOC Partnership Forum held on April 4, 2018 was opened by the Deputy Secretary-General A. Mohammed and the President of the ECOSOC, Ambassador M. Chatardová. Both speakers highlighted that the private sector is an indispensable part in fulfilling the goals of 2030 Agenda. Subsequent panels were mostly discussing the value of the emerging blockchain technology and big data in fostering resilient societies. Over 700 representatives of private, non-governmental and academic sectors participated in the Partnership Forum alongside the member states and the UN representatives.
