On June 15, 2023, a ceremonial meeting was held to symbolically mark the first tourist trail "Dugui tsagaan" on the Bogdkhaan mountain, following the model of the Czech tourist trail marking system.
The event was attended by Jan Vytopil - the ambassador of the Czech Republic in Mongolia, E. Temuujin - the head of the working group of the National Olympic Committee, public physical education and sports, O. Baasan - the director of the implementation strategy department of the State Physical Education and Sports Committee (governmental implementation agency), S. Gerelmaa - the director of the health support department of the Social Healthcare Center at the Ministry of Health, D. Batsukh - the chairman of the Tourist Office of the capital, representative of the director of the strictly protected area Bogdkhan mountain, B. Bolor-Erdene - the chairman of the Association of Mongolian Walking Tourism, Dr. Václav Pecina, researcher of Mendel University, members of the Association of Mongolian Tourism, and journalists from TV SBN, C1.
During the ceremonial afternoon, an agreement was signed between the Mongolian Walking Association and the Czech Tourist Club on the rights to use the tourist marking system from the Czech Republic. This marking system is considered the most transparent and thus the most widespread in the world. Mongolia will thus join countries such as Brazil, the Philippines, Ukraine, or Croatia, which utilize this system of tourist marks.
"Marking tourist trails is very simple and financially undemanding. You only need a brush, a can with one of the four basic colors (red, white, blue, and yellow), and a cut-out cardboard frame of 10 x 10 cm size," explained the Czech ambassador, Jan Vytopil.
The demonstration of the marking process was led by Dr. Pecina from Mendel University, who also offered the tourist association the possibility of further cooperation on mapping tourist trails.
"Mongolia declared the year 2023 as the year of tourism. Creating clear tourist trails will significantly contribute to the attractiveness of local hiking," added the chairman of the Mongolian Walking Association, Mr. Bolor-Erdene.
