Mongolian incoming mission focused on agriculture, forestry and the environment

On 7-11 April 2018, an economic diplomacy project "Mongolian Incoming Mission with focus on Agriculture, Forestry and the Environment" was taken place in the Czech Republic. The main aim of the project was to support the export interests of Czech farmers and foresters. The project was prepared by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ulaanbaatar in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic. Mongolian entrepreneurs arrived in the Czech Republic together with the Mongolian government delegation and participated in the VII meeting of the Czech-Mongolian Intergovernmental Joint Committee organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic.
The Mongolian incoming mission was implemented by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ulaanbaatar, in cooperation with the Economic Chamber of the Czech Republic and with the financial support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic. The mission program was formulated taking into account the current needs of Mongolia in the field of livestock breeding, livestock products and forestry processing.
Representatives of the Mongolian commercial sphere, forestry associations and Forest Research & Development Center visited to the international trade fairs in Brno, namely TECHAGRO and SILVA REGINA and attended a professional seminar organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ulaanbaatar. The participants saw the presentations by Czech counterparts Farmtec a.s., Reparoservis spol. s.r.o., PEFC CR, as well as, the Forest Management Institute.
As part of the incoming mission program, they were also allowed to participate in VII. a meeting of the Czech-Mongolian Joint Committee organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic which, in addition to mutual economic and commercial cooperation between the Czech Republic and Mongolia, also supported specific business cases and participation in a business forum organized by the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
In the Mongolian government delegation led by Health Minister Ms. Sarangerel Davaajantsan were Member of Parliament Mr. N. Nyambaatar and State Secretary of the Ministry of the Environment and Tourism Mr. Ts. Tsengel present. They had bilateral talks with the Minister of Health of the Czech Republic Mr. Adam Vojtěch, and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Mr. Eduard Muřický and representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Czech Development Agency and the Prague Zoo. Both Mongolian and Czech officials have declared interest in mutually beneficial cooperation in a number of areas, focusing on cooperation in agriculture, meat and milk processing, and forestry and environmental protection projects.
Representing Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ulaanbaatar, the Economic Diplomat Ms. Iva Šustáková participated to the meeting of the Joint Committee and the preceding Czech-Mongolian Business Forum, who reviewed the Czech-Mongolian business relations in the panel discussion of the Forum from the point of view of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ulaanbaatar. Vice-President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce Mr. Bořivoj Minar signed the Agreement on Mutual Cooperation at the Business Forum with the Secretary General of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Oyuntegsh Enebish.
During expert excursions, representatives of Czech companies FARMTEC a.s., FRUJO a.s.,
T Machinery a.s. and Svatá Barbora wineries are able to meet
with representatives of three Mongolian business companies Forte Mining Supply LLC, Terbum Khas Group Company and Ikh Khaadyn Tsuvaa LLC on their manufacturing factories.
The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Mongolia Mr. Jiří Brodský evaluated the project of the incoming mission as "Mongolian entrepreneurs were able to get acquainted with the latest Czech technologies in agriculture, forestry, environment and mining and to establish business relations with companies in several Czech regions. This project was part of the broader activities of the Czech embassy in the field of economic diplomacy and commercial follow up on projects implemented in Mongolia within the framework of Czech development cooperation".
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ulaanbaatar very much appreciates the readiness of representatives of Czech companies who participated in negotiations with representatives of Mongolian business companies. Interest to meet with Mongolian partners was considerable among the Czech companies, which was reflected in attending a seminar organized by the Embassy during a visit to the Brno fairs and a Czech-Mongolian business forum organized by the Czech Chamber of Commerce.
