Czech Ambassador Visits Tartu

On 16-17 September, the Czech Ambassador to Estonia, Zdeněk Beránek, visited Tartu, Estonia's second-largest city. The program included a presentation of Czech companies specializing in electronic warfare, a meeting with the Deputy Mayor responsible for development and urban planning, discussions with students at the University of Tartu, and a visit to the Estonian Literary Museum.

The visit began with participation in the EW Live electronic warfare exhibition, where several Czech companies were represented. The Ambassador attended the ceremonial launch of a new product by the company ERA: the EW-DEC, a deceptive target system for electronic warfare. In the afternoon, he met with the owner of Olerex, Estonia's largest chain of fuel stations, who provided an overview of the company's operations and the country's energy security situation. This was followed by a meeting with Deputy Mayor Kertu Vuks, responsible for development and urban planning. Their discussions focused on the construction of a new cultural center and other projects that could potentially involve Czech partners.

The Ambassador also held two meetings at the University of Tartu, including discussions with representatives of the Department of Slavic Studies and the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies. A debate with students followed, covering current geopolitical issues from the perspective of the Czech Republic.

The visit concluded with a trip to the Estonian Literary Museum, which maintains active cooperation with partners in the Czech Republic.
