The meeting took place after Russia flagrantly violated Estonian airspace on Friday, September 19, 2025, which is currently the subject of a series of negotiations at the UN and NATO levels. The Czech Republic fully supports Estonia, condemns the violation of its airspace and calls on Russia to respect the borders.

Czech-Estonian economic cooperation is developing successfully, whether it concerns the supply of Czech trains or other projects. According to Lauri Hussar, there is potential in strengthening cooperation in the defense industry. Estonia plans to be a leader in defense spending, increasing from this year's 3.4% of GDP to 5.4% of GDP over the next few years.

Other topics of discussion included Russian influence, the spread of disinformation, and Russian attempts to influence elections in the West, including in the context of preparations for the October local elections in Estonia.
