Young Duo from Prague Introducing Czech Composers

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Estonia with Pille Lill Music Fund proudly present a music performance titled “Czech Music Evening”, which is going to be held on Thursday 27th of October 2016 in a beautiful historic Citizens' Hall of the Tallinn Town Hall. A young Czech couple, Ludmila Pavlová (violin) and Stanislav Gallin (piano), will perform some of the most famous works of the Czech composers. The concert starts at 19:00 pm. The artists will be also introduced to guests of the Czech Embassy reception on the occasion of the Czech National Day (28th of October).

Ludmila Pavlová (22) started play violin at the age of four. She competed in the prestigious violin competitions in the Czech Republic, winning first prizes. As a part of the concert series „Josef Suk Presents Young Talents“, Ludmila Pavlová played her debut in Rudolfinum Concert Hall (Prague) in 2007 at the age of thirteen alongside to the famous Czech violinist Josef Suk, the great-grandson of the composer Antonín Dvořák. This was followed by many solo appearances with several Czech youth orchestras and the Prague Symphony Orchestra. In 2014 Ludmila was the first prize laureate of the Václav Hudeček Academy, where she was awarded a masterpiece violin and a contract to participate with Václav Hudeček on his tour. Ludmila studied at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts with Ivan Štraus and Pavel Šporcl and at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with Jan Pospíchal. She took masterclasses with Anne-Sophie Mutter, Charles Avsharian, Robert Davidovici, Zdeněk Gola and Ivan Ženatý.
The large repertory of the young violinist ranges from baroque to contemporary music, including the complete works for violin by Antonín Dvořák. Ludmila Pavlová appeared as a soloist in the Czech Republic, United Arab Emirates, Germany, Austria and Belgium. This season has been working on projects with the Festival Orchestra and the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra, with whom she performed the Violin Concerto in D minor by Jean Sibelius. Ludmila introduced herself also with conductor Jack Martin Händler in the concert on celebration of the 100th birth anniversary of Yehudi Menuhin.
Stanislav Gallin (34), Assistant Profesor at Prague Academy of Performing Arts, studied in Petersburg Conservatory, where his teacher was Vladimir Mishouk. He continued his studies at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts with Peter Toperzer and graduated in 2007 performing Tchaikovsky´s Piano Concerto in Prague´s Rudolfinum. In 2012 he finished his postgraduate studies at the University of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Slovakia.
His numerous competition successes include 1st prize in Nersingen (Germany) and 1st prize at The Prague Junior Note. He also participated in a study program at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, where his teacher was Peter Lang. In the international master classes Stanislav has worked with Lazar Berman, Eugen Indjic, Avo Kouyoumdjian, Pierre Jasmin and others. As a soloist he has performed with numerous European orchestras and as a sought-after chamber player has appeared on stages in Europe, USA and Africa.
