Concert of the Choral Society of Moravian Teachers

On August 1, 2018, the members of Czech male choir “The Choral Society of Moravian Teachers” visited the Czech Embassy in Tallinn. The choir connected its participation in the international Singing World Festival in St. Petersburg (from 5th to 10th August 2018) with a several-day trip to Baltic states to organize other concerts.

The Choral Society of Moravian Teachers belongs among important singing ensembles in the Czech Republic, whose tradition dates back to 1903, and who had already collaborated with Czech composer Leos Janacek in its early years. Thanks to the choir´s stylistic sophistication and advanced voice culture, the composer could entrust it with the most demanding choral compositions that have been part of its repertoire until today.

On August 2, 2018, The Choral Society of Moravian Teachers participated in the 26th Rapla Church Music Festival, held in the small city Vahastu, Rapla County. The annual ten-day festival (forbidden during the Soviet period) takes place almost every day in different Rapla County church, which then come to life with high-quality musical productions. Among other songs, the famous compositions by well-known Czech composers L. Janáček, B. Smetana and J. B. Foerster were part of the concert. The performance was extremely successful with standing ovations at the end. This concert was organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Estonia in cooperation with the Estonian Pille Lill Music Foundation, the main organizer of the Festival. Deputy Head of Mission and Cultural Attaché represented Czech Embassy.
