As of 1 July 2025, a zero quota has been set for the Czech Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei for accepting applications for Employee Cards from citizens of countries for which the office is not accredited and who do not have free access to the labour market in the Czech Republic.

According to the latest amendment of Government Regulation No. 220/2019 Coll. applications for Employee Cards at the Czech Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei may therefore only be submitted by holders of Taiwanese passports and also citizens of the following countries: the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and Israel.

The zero quota does not apply to applications for Employee Cards submitted under the targeted economic migration programmes (Highly Qualified Employee, Key and Scientific Personnel).

Legal basis: Amendment of Government Regulation No. 220/2019 Coll. effective as of 1 July 2026 (Government Regulation on the Maximum Number of Applications for Long-Term Visas over 90 days for the Purpose of Business, Applications for Long-Term Residence Permits for the Purpose of Investment, and Applications for Employee Cards that May Be Submitted at a Diplomatic Mission).

 

1/ HOLDERS OF TAIWANESE PASSPORT AND APPLICANTS FOR QUALIFIED MIGRATION PROGRAMS:

Those interested in arranging an appointment for submitting employment applications, register at the e-mail address Taipei.Visa@mzv.gov.cz according to the following rules:

Conditions of the content of the registration e-mail:

1. In the subject of this e-mail must be the applicant's passport number. E-mails containing in the subject information other than the passport number itself will not be taken into consideration.

2. The content of the e-mail must include the following identification data of the applicant: name, surname, date of birth, passport number, contact telephone number and e-mail address.

3. A scan of the employment contract that will be submitted together with the application and a scan of the data page of the passport must be attached to the e-mail application (due to the limited capacity of the registration box the attachments must not be larger than 10MB).

 

2/ LONG-TERM VISA FOR SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT OF LONG-TERM / PERMANENT RESIDENTS IN TAIWAN (RANDOM DRAW)

In 2026, the registration for submitting applications for long-term visas for the purpose of seasonal employment will take place on the following dates: January 2, 2026; April 3, 2026; July 3, 2026; and October 2, 2026, always from 9:00 to 15:00 local time.

To arrange an appointment, please follow the instructions below:

1. Send a registration e-mail on the above-mentioned day at the above-mentioned time to the e-mail address: taipei.employment@mzv.gov.cz.* The request must be addressed directly to the specified email address used for registration (i.e. the given e-mail must not be addressed only in the copy of the sent email).

2. Indicate your passport number only in the email subject line.

3. In the body of the e-mail, include the following information: full name (as written in the passport), date of birth, type of visa and purpose of stay.

4. Attach the following attachments to the e-mail (in .jpg or .pdf format):

• Scan of current Taiwan residence permit (ARC)
• Scan of document proving the purpose of stay (Work permit under Section 96 (1) of the Employment Act​. The same document must be submitted when submitting the application.)
• Scan of employment contract from employer in the Czech Republic
• Scan of passport data page.

5. Applicants who are not citizens of countries within the territorial jurisdiction of the Czech Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei shall also attach proof that they have been permitted to reside in the country within the territorial jurisdiction of the office for at least previous two years. If residence cannot be proven, the applicant shall submit the application in their home country.

6. 1 applicant = 1 e-mail. Please send only one email. Only one applicant can be ordered in each e-mail. **

Due to the strong anti-spam protection used by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we recommend sending the registration e-mail for each applicant from a different email address.

7. Your e-mail will be processed electronically by a system based on randomized element.

8. The following emails will be disqualified from the registration process:

• e-mails that will request for an appointment for purpose different than long-term seasonal employment visa 
• e-mails that are not sent in the format according to point 1-3
• e-mails that do not contain attachments according to point 4,5
• e-mails by which the applicant attempts to register multiple applicants at once**
• e-mails that one applicant sends multiple times
• e-mails sent outside the above-mentioned registration period
• e-mails with attachments larger than 10 MB.

9. Wait for confirmation. CECO will inform you about the allocation or non-allocation of a date within 7 days.

10. If you do not receive an appointment confirmation within 7 days, it implies that your request was not drawn or was not sent in accordance with the terms and conditions of the registration process. 

11. The assigned appointment cannot be changed. If you fail to show up for your appointment, the assigned date becomes invalid. If you arrive late without prior apology, your appointment will also be canceled.

**Applicants acknowledge that the mzv.gov.cz email domain is protected by advanced cybersecurity systems. Therefore, emails identified as spam or potentially harmful, those exhibiting signs of automated mass distribution, originating from IP addresses or domains on security blacklists, or those failing to meet or exceeding the established security parameters of the domain, may be excluded from the registration process. The use of automated tools, bots, scripts, or any other software for mass distribution of registration emails will be classified as a cyber threat, and such emails will be excluded from registration.

No appointments are offered on Czech or Taiwanese national holidays. 

The official languages of the Czech Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei are Czech and English. Applicants for long-term visas and residence permits who cannot communicate in either of these languages need to arrange, at their own expense, an interpreter.
