The Czech Representative to Taiwan David Steinke attended the Healthcare Systems Consortium (HSC) Third Inauguration Ceremony and the 2nd Joint Meeting of the 3rd Board of Directors and Supervisors at Tunghai University on March 21, 2026. The event brought together academic and institutional leaders, including NSTC Minister Cheng Wen Wu. The program highlighted HSC’s cooperation with international partners, including the Czech Republic, and reviewed various research and exchange activities carried out over the past decade.
During his speech Representative Steinke emphasized the long‑standing partnership between the HSC and the Czech Republic, noting that Chairman Weng previously led a joint NSTC–Czech project on AI‑assisted healthcare robotics and that the HSC has maintained active exchanges with 14 countries, with the Czech Republic serving as its primary European partner in advancing smart medical solutions.
HSC also presented an overview of its work from 2016 to 2026, demonstrating the growing role of smart healthcare in Taiwan. These developments continue to be of interest to Czech institutions active in medical technology, innovation, and applied research.
The Czech Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei will continue to follow developments within HSC and identify opportunities for professional exchange relevant to Czech stakeholders in healthcare, technology, and academia.
