Opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Hobart

On Thursday 11 December 2025, the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Hobart was officially (re)opened in the presence of Ambassador Jana Tyrer and Consul-General Zuzana Slováková. Vladimir Gala was inaugurated as Honorary Consul in the presence of local officials including the Tasmanian State Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Scott Kelleher.
The Honorary Consulate will provide help to Czech citizens both residing in or visiting the state of Tasmania, offer assistance in consular aganda such as the verification of signatures, copies of documents, handing over passports, and provide consular assistance to Czech citizens in emergency situations. The Honorary Consulate will also represent the Czech Republic in the field of culture and business.
