Czech Toys in Sydney

On April 7, 2016 the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Sydney in collaboration with CzechTrade office in Sydney organized presentation of Czech toys for Australian buyers.
There have been presented traditional Czech handmade wooden, tin and croched toys from established Czech manufacturers. This project of economic diplomacy was financially supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Consul General of the Czech Republic in Sydney Mrs. Hana Flanderová opened the event and welcomed the visitors.
Czech Republic is the largest exporter of toys in Europe. Entertainment and leisure are also listed as perspective fields within the updated Maps of opportunities for 2016 for Australia and New Zealand. Toys exports to Australia represents more than 20% of total Czech exports to Australia and more than 19% of total Czech exports to New Zealand.
The largest distributor of traditional hand-made toys in Australia is currently HappyGoDucky, company which in 2016 launched both wholesale, retail sales, and online sale (see www.happygoducky .com.au). HappyGoDucky represents five major Czech toy companies:
• Kovap company from Nachod that since 1946 produces mechanical tin toys for children and is certified safe toys and toys of 2011;
• Detoa from Albrechtice, founded in 1908 is one of the few companies producing quality wooden toys in Europe, using the European wood and high-quality, certified and environmentally friendly paints and varnishes;
• Miva Vacov, which was founded in 1992 as a manufacturer of wooden toys on wheels, wooden musical toys, wooden puzzles and wooden figures;
• CEEDA Cavity, which since 2005 offers quality organic wooden toys - moving models of traffic and construction vehicles
• Drevo detem, which also manufactures high quality wooden toys and wooden accessories such as balance bikes, boats, cars, trucks, buggies, cots, kitchens, hanging decorations or puzzle and accessories for the kids room.
During the presentation event there was another product introduced. New generation balance bike made by a company called Repello, which is the only balance bike on the market with the full suspension. It is not only functional, but also has an amazing design and can be easily assembled.
Repello is a young brand, which was founded in 2015. Its core consists of a pair of George Marjan, responsible for development and construction, and Paul Nicholas, designer.
For buyers of kindergartens and children centers there was also a unique product called MagicBox from a Czech company Projektmedia, whose first prototype was produced in 2013. It is a device that allows interactive teaching children directly on the ground, ie. it is not only suitable for preschool educational institutions but also for handicapped children.
MagicBox has won numerous awards. In 2013, for example Grand Prix Exhibition For Toys, in 2014 - a gold medal for Czech Product of the Year and became the winner of the Czech innovation in the category of Innovative Star.
Within the project of economic diplomacy to promote the export of Czech toys to Australia was information on the aforementioned Czech firms published in prestigious specialized magazine "Toy and Hobby Retailer", which is the leading Australian magazine in the toy industry. Advertisements about presentations and information about the companies themselves were published as the first page of the Web magazine and in its electronic eNewsletter and will appear in the next issue of the printed version of the magazine, which will be released May 20, 2016.
