The Ambassador of the Czech Republic took part in the NATO conference

The 29th of September was the second day of the NATO Strategy for Security in the Black Sea Region Conference, which discussed the newly organized presence of NATO units in the Black Sea (Bulgaria and Romania) and the Baltic States. Particularly interesting was the discussion of the situation in Ukraine and the perspective of its relations with NATO, where the opinions are ambiguous - from possible membership to remaining in the current relations towards approach to membership.

Another topic was a summary of the "frozen conflicts in the Black Sea" where an assessment of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh was presented. Particularly interesting was the statement by the Georgian representative who exposed the current situation in Abkhazia and South Ossetia and from a historical perspective summed up the course of the events that have led to today's situation, mainly to Russian`s military attack from 2008.

Transnistria - an occupied area of the Republic of Moldova, where the separatist authorities are oriented towards Russia, was also mentioned partially.

The last topic was the situation in the Black Sea as an important intersection of several transit corridors for transfer of energy sources to Europe.
