
Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Sofia visited city of Stara Zagora

On May 16, 2017, Mr. Dušan Štrauch, Ambassador of the Czech Republic, visited city of Stara Zagora. He visited the town hall where he met with deputies of Mayor of the city – Ms. Ivanka Sotirova and Ms. Krasimira Chahova.
The meeting started by mentioning of historical relations between both countries with putting emphasis on the work of Mr. Libor Bayer, one of the Bulgarian Czechs, chief project architect of city plan of Stara Zagora. The meeting continued by the discussion about possibilities of cooperation in the area of ecological city transport, energy efficiency of buildings, recycling of construction waste and cultural activities.
Ambassador also visited the big social project under construction, which has been realizing by the Salesian Community „Don Bosco“ from the Czech Republic and which is financed from their own funds. The project will include the education centre with the primary school and church, where more than 180 poor children of different ethnic groups will have the opportunity to be educated for free.
During the meeting with Salesians Ambassador promised to contact the managment of the city of Stara Zagora regarding the unsolved sewage connection of the new building.
