The conference discussed ways to promote and protect the human rights of older persons, including freedom from violence, abuse and neglect, the right to health care, social protection, the right to an adequate standard of living, as well as the role of national human rights institutions and international cooperation in promoting and protecting the rights of older persons.

 

Guests discussed the challenges faced by older persons, ways to help them, the changes brought about by the pandemic and the process of adopting the intended international legislation.

 

The conference was attended by representatives of a number of NGOs, the United Nations and Member States and Institutions of the European Union.
