
SONGPA – Four Mayors of Czech cities at LivCom Awards

Mayors of four Czech cities – Dan Jiránek of Kladno (www.mestokladno.cz), Jaroslav Vymazal of Jihlava (www.jihlava.cz), Jiří Fišer of Tábor (www.taborcz.eu) and Petr Řezníček of Chrudim (www.chrudim.cz) – took part in five-days event which culminated with presentation of The International Awards for Liveable Communities (LivCom). These awards are given to local communities to recognize the best management of environment and the final event was the first time in ten-years-history of the event organized in the Republic of Korea.
About 330 applicants from 80 countries competed for the awards this year and many delegations from all contintents travelled to Songpa to share their environment practices with other cities during the conference which ended on October 31, 2011. The winning cities were announced in three categories: whole city awards – where city of Jihlava received the 3rd place among the cities of 20-75 thousand inhabitants, and city of Chrudim the main award in category „Healthy Lifestyle“ and also one of the project awards.
