SEOUL – two new Czech animation feature films at SICAF 2012

Among some 300 animated films the annual Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival features also two award winning films from the Czech Republic – Alois Nebel and Fimfárum Third Time Lucky.

The annual Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival (SICAF) opens on July 18, 2012 in several locations in Seoul. For this year’s competition section, a total of 1,362 films were submitted from 45 countries. Among them, 154 films have been selected including five feature-length competition productions.

Tomáš Luňák´s Alois Nebel, a black-and-white art animation, which was previously selected for such festivals as Venice and Toronto, is to be competing with local sensational debut The King of Pigs by Yeun Sang-ho, which was invited to Cannes film festival and three other feature films. Other Czech film selected for SICAF´s line-up is Fimfárum Third Time Lucky, a feature film by three directors Vlasta Pospíšilová, Kristina Dufková and David Súkup.

 

SICAF is to be held at CGV Myeongdong and AniCinema¨from July 18 to 22, 2012. Tickets range from 4,000 won to 5,000 won for film screenings.
