SEOUL – National Day of the Czech Republic celebration

More than two hundred guests accepted the invitation of Ambassador of the Czech Republic to take part in a reception on the occasion of the Czech National Day on 28, October 2008.

Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Korea H.E. Mr. Jaroslav Olša, jr. and his spouse Mrs. Michaela Vovková have hosted a reception to celebrate the national day of the Czech Republic at Millenium Seoul Hilton on October 28, 2008. Many distinguised guests attended the celebration, with Minister of Education, Science and Technology Hon. Ahn Byong-man being a guest of honour. Speaking to the guests on behalf of the government of the Republic of Korea, Minister Ahn congratulated the Czech Republic on this important anniversary and expressed his pleasure on the constantly increasing close ties and cooperation between the two countries. Ambassador Olša in his speech mentioned a long relations between the Czechs and the Koreans, which could be traced until the early 20th century, and which in recent years resulted in intensive cooperation between both countries – one of its result being Hyundai car manufacturing plant in Nošovice, due to start the production in a few weeks time.
Attracting the attention of the guests was a dance performance of the so-called „Czech Club“ of the students of Czech-language studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, who were accorded a considerable applause from the audience.
