SEOUL – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic at 2012 Seoul Nuclear Security Summit

Delegation of the Czech Republic led by the 1st Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg attended the 2012 Seoul Nuclear Security Summit on March 25-27, 2012. The summit was focused on strengthening nuclear security and adopting measures to prevent nuclear terrorism. At the invitation of President of the Republic of Korea H.E. Mr. Lee Myung-bak the summit was attended by leaders from 53 countries and 4 international organizations and it was presided by presidents of the Republic of Korea and the United States of America. The first such a Summit was held in Washington in 2010 and was led by President of the United States of America Barack Obama.
During his stay in Seoul, minister Schwarzenberg held also informal talks with many world leaders, he was received by Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Kim Hwang-sik, met with the Czechs living in Korea, bohemists and friends of the Czech Republic at Czech Info Center and visited the Seoul Museum of History. Minister Schwarzenberg also attended a lunch with representatives of leading Korean conglomerates and investors and presented an appreciation medal to Ryu Seung Gyu, CEO of SAB Miller Korea, importer of three brands of Czech beer.
