SEOUL – Czech promotional events for Jasmine Club

Three presentations for the VIP members of Hyundai Dept. Store´s Jasmine Club took place at the Czech residence in Seoul during the month of May, 2011.

Series of promotional events about the Czech Republic was organized at the Czech residence during May 2011. Aimed at VIP members of leading Hyundai Dept. Store´s Jasmine Club, it consisted of cultural programme and screening of films about Prague and the Czech Republic. Each of three events had a special guest presenting different aspects of Czech culture. The first event was enlightened by the presence of the founding father of Korean Czech studies and former Vice President of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Professor Kim Kyuchin who lectured about the Czech literature. Seoul´s Czech Tourism and Czech Airlines representative Mr. Choi Soo Myung presented the tourist potential of Prague and other historical sights during the second event, while Mr. Michal Emanovský of Seoul Philharmony Orchestra not only played the horn, but also introduced some of the famous Czech pieces of classical music by showing the part of the famous film version of opera Rusalka. The first of these events was also featured in The Korea Times on May 16, 2011.

This public diplomacy presentations followed the previous Czech-related events organized by Hyundai Dept. Store with a presence of the Mr. World 1st runner up, Czech Josef Karas.
