PRAGUE - agreement on working holiday scheme between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Korea signed

The Agreement between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of Korea Concerning a Working Holiday Program was signed at the Czernin Palace, seat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, on December 19, 2011. The agreement was signed by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to the Czech Republic Gabriel Oh.

This agreement will have to be ratified by both chambers of Parliament of the Czech Republic and signed by the President of the Czech Republic. It will thus enter into force approximately in the first half of 2012. Since then on the respective diplomatic missions in the other country´s capital will be allowed to issue the special type of working holiday visas which will allow young people of both countries under the age of 30 to stay and work in the other country for a stipulated time frame.

This agreement will increase the number of young people visiting both the Czech Republic and the Republic of Korea from the other country and will benefit them with a chance to appreciate the culture and general way of life and allow them to learn and know more about the other respective country,. It will be also very beneficial for both students of Czech from Korean universities as well as Czech students of Korean studies, who will have even a better possibility to learn and work in their countries of interest.
