Among other participants, the conference was attended by the Minister of Commerce and Industry S. Moon, Director of the Korean Meteorological Institute K. Park, and Deputy Mayor of Seoul I. Cho, as well as by representatives of waste management businesses, members of academic and research institutions, and NGOs. H.E. G. Slamečka also attended the event.

Following the recent P4G Government Summit and the Korean Economic Forum, which has also been primarily dedicated to environmental issues, this is another event that seeks to facilitate a joint platform to involve government, private sector, and the public in environmental policy issues.

Increased interest in the above issues coinciding with the Korean administration's declaration of the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 may create potential opportunities for cooperation with foreign entities.
