2023 Pyeongtaek International Children's Art Exchange Exhibition & 'Famous Czech Composer' Special Exhibition

The '2023 Pyeongtaek International Children's Art Exchange Exhibition' hosted by the Pyeongtaek International Exchange Foundation opened on May 13! This year, children from 27 countries, including Czechia, showed off their artistic talents under the theme "My Friends."

Along with the main exhibition, the Czech Center Seoul organised an interactive exhibition 'Famous Czech Composers' where the audience could learn about representative Czech composers such as Antonín Dvořák, Bedřich Smetana, and Leoš Janáček while listening to some of their music.

At the opening ceremony on the 13th, students from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies' Czech and Slovak Studies Department performed traditional Czech polka dance. During the tour with guests and visitors, Ambassador Gustav Slamečka explained the Czech students' works and the Czech culture portrayed in their art. Also, Czech Center Director Michal Emanovský gave a brief introduction to the Czech composers' exhibition and demonstrated how to listen to their music by using the touch screen provided as part of the exhibition.

The exhibitions will be held from May 13 to June 12 at the Songtan International Exchange Center's Multipurpose Building in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do Province.
