Opening ceremony of the SDG exhibition “Towards the Day After Today”

March 7 was the opening ceremony of the exhibition “Towards the Day After Today,” jointly hosted by the Embassy of Czechia in Seoul, Czech Center Seoul and the Korea Foundation (KF). Distinguished guests who attended the ceremony included Ambassador Gustav Slamečka, KF Executive Vice President Rhee Jong Kook; KF Global Center Director Kim Hyun-Joo, and Czech Center Director Michal emanovský and Heads of Mission of the foreign embassies in Korea.

“Towards the Day After Today” presents two different perspectives on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), an international blueprint suggested by the UN to achieve a sustainable future.

Young Czech photographer David Těšínský travels around the world to capture the lives of people living in the margins of their societies. By depicting fragments of the crises facing humanity and connect his works to the concept of the SDGs, Těšínský allows us to explore the concept of sustainability and give us a chance for self-reflection.

The second part "SDGs: Innovation for a Sustainable Future" project is an interactive exhibition designed to allow the visitors to learn about SDGs through 3D images and animations in augmented reality through smartphone applications.

The exhibition hall was full of distinguished guest celebrating the opening of our exhibition. In addition, David Těšínský, the artist who created the photoworks of the first part of the exhibition, joined the occassion to explain his own works and perspectives to the audience.

The number of people who joined us for the event shows how important the keyword "sustainable future" is for our generation, and how everyone takes it seriously to pass on a cleaner and better environment to future generations. Big thanks to all the guests who joined us to celebrate our event together and to all those who contributed to the exhibition.

The exhibition is open to the public until next month.
