EU Goes to School 2026: Visit to Jangchung High School

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Seoul once again participated in the EU Goes to School 2026 program, jointly organized by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea and the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education. EU Goes to School is an educational initiative that brings EU ambassadors and diplomats to Korean middle and high schools, where they engage directly with students to discuss the values and role of the European Union, the history and culture of EU Member States, and the importance of international cooperation. Through presentations and interactive discussions, students gain a deeper understanding of Europe and global affairs while developing their skills as future global citizens.

The Czech Embassy’s first visit of 2026 was to the International Exchange Club of Jangchung High School in Seoul. During the session, students attended a presentation on Czech history and culture, the country’s political and economic characteristics, cooperation between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Korea, and the role of the European Union in promoting collaboration and peace among its Member States. Students showed particular interest in the close partnership that the Czech Republic and Korea have built across a wide range of fields, as well as the continued expansion of exchanges in culture, education, science, and technology.

The presentation was followed by an engaging question-and-answer session. Students asked a variety of thoughtful questions about the Czech education system and university life, major cultural heritage sites and tourist destinations in the Czech Republic, the decision-making process within the European Union, and career opportunities in diplomacy. The Embassy was deeply impressed by the students’ enthusiasm, curiosity, and insightful questions, which reflected their broad perspective on international affairs and global issues.

The visit provided a meaningful opportunity to introduce the Czech Republic to Korea’s future generation and to strengthen mutual understanding through direct dialogue. It also offered students a valuable chance to learn more about Europe and the Czech Republic while exploring the significance of international cooperation in today’s interconnected world.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Seoul would like to express its sincere gratitude to the students and teachers of the Jangchung High School International Exchange Club for their warm hospitality. We look forward to meeting many more students through the EU Goes to School program and to further expanding the bridges of exchange linking the Czech Republic and Korea, as well as Europe and Korea.
