EU Goes to School 2025: Czech Ambassador Visits Haeseong International Convention High School

In June 2025, Ambassador H.E. Ivan Jančárek visited Haeseong International Convention High School as part of the EU Goes to School program. Around 100 students attended a lively and engaging session covering topics such as the Czech Republic, the European Union, and Czech-Korean relations.

As part of the EU Goes to School initiative in June 2025, the Czech Embassy visited Haeseong International Convention High School to engage with students in a special educational event. This program, organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Korea, brings ambassadors from EU member states to Korean middle and high schools to introduce the EU and its member countries directly to young students.

Ambassador Ivan Jančárek delivered a presentation to around 100 students, discussing the Czech Republic’s history, culture, and role within the European Union. He also highlighted the strong and growing ties between Czechia and Korea, particularly in fields such as energy, education, and cultural exchange.

The students responded with curiosity and enthusiasm, asking thoughtful questions about Europe’s future, the importance of international cooperation, and the practical aspects of diplomacy. Ambassador Jančárek expressed his admiration for their bright energy and serious engagement, stating, “I was deeply impressed by your curiosity and global mindset. I hope many of you will go on to play an active role in connecting Korea with the world.”

This visit served as a meaningful opportunity for Korean youth to broaden their understanding of diplomacy and international affairs while also allowing the Embassy to strengthen its connection with the next generation of global citizens.
