The Czech Embassy’s ‘A Day with Ambassador’ program returned for its third edition in 2026, offering aspiring young diplomats a unique opportunity to experience diplomacy firsthand.
On May 12, the Embassy welcomed three outstanding students interested in international affairs. In a discussion with Ambassador Ivan Jancárek, they explored his career path, diplomatic experiences, and the skills required to succeed in the field. They also met with colleagues from across the Embassy, including the Deputy Head of Mission and teams from the Commercial, Consular, and Public Diplomacy sections, gaining valuable insight into how an embassy operates in practice.
On May 13, the final winner, Ms. Moon Miseon—a Political Science and International Relations student at Kyunghee University Seoul Campus —continued with a tailored program. She visited the Embassy of Ireland to learn about its priorities ahead of assuming the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and met with The National Assembly of The Republic of Korea Member Kim Gunn, a former diplomat, who shared perspectives on diplomacy and policymaking. Her program also included visits to Pilsner Urquell and Korea JoongAng Daily, offering insight into Czech business activities in Korea and the role of media in public diplomacy.
Across both days, the participants were able to see firsthand how diplomacy connects people, institutions, and ideas. We look forward to seeing these talented students grow into future leaders on the global stage.
